The Planning Your Retirement workshops are designed to give you a high-level overview of what you need to do to prepare financially, from visioning your post-work life to collecting your data, analyzing your investments, making decisions about long-term care expense coverage, Social Security and Medicare. The workshops are live, move quickly and leave time for audience questions. While delivered via Zoom, turning on your camera or microphone is optional. The course is educational in nature, and nothing will be sold.
The Council of Financial Educators (COFE) is a non-profit association of financial professionals who believe a clear understanding of financial concepts and strategies is the first step toward making sound retirement decisions. Their commitment to education and providing a safe learning environment are key to attendees’ enjoyment and comprehension. Pre-registration is required.
These workshops are designed for those who are 50 to 70-years-old and either in retirement or within a couple years of retirement. Folks who benefit the most tend to be financial “do-it-yourselfers,” who have done all the right things, even if only through good habits – they’ve managed their careers, saved money, stayed out of debt, maybe bought a house and raised a kid or three. They are typically reliant on their assets (personal savings, 401k’s, 403b’s and the like) to fund retirement, are concerned about a recession, and want some new perspectives and ideas.
The goal of the workshops is to give you a solid framework for planning your retirement. You will receive financial tools to help you better understand risk, taxes, budgeting, and estate planning. We’ll talk about common oversights and pitfalls in planning, as well as ways to increase your chances of financial success.
